• On October 20th, 2021, the EMUHSD Board of Trustees directed the District to require that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by January 3, 2022.  (PDF copy) mandates all eligible EMUHSD staff be fully vaccinated.  To be considered fully vaccinated, two weeks must have passed after receiving the second dose of the vaccine or two weeks after the date on which a single-dose vaccine was administered, such as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The mandate also includes all contractors, vendors, volunteers, and other service providers required to work on or report to District facilities or property, or whose duties otherwise require them to be in the physical presence of District staff or students.

As part of the EMUHSD efforts to provide the safest possible environment in which to learn and work, all students 12 years old and older will also be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 3, 2022.

The District will provide more details about the vaccine mandate including information on requests for exemptions. The District will also continue to provide opportunities for employees and students to be vaccinated by hosting on-site vaccination clinics and promoting local vaccination events throughout our community.

Vaccination is by far the most effective tool we have to ensure a safe school environment.   I am grateful to our school community for its ongoing support of our District’s health and safety measures, which have provided a path forward to increasing immunity.
