  • How can a student receive a Mifi device?

    Posted by:

天美影视 wishing to participate in the optional P10M offering must complete the required P10M Agreement form along with their parent or guardian. Form submissions will be reviewed and students will receive a notification via their student Google account as to the status of their application and next steps towards device pickup date & times. Most often, the P10M Mifi devices will be disbursed to new students along with their Chromebook prior to the beginning of Summer School or the Fall Semester, whichever comes first for the student.

  • What happens if the MiFi device is stolen?

    Posted by:

Any stolen devices related to the P10M or Access for All program must be reported immediately to the school location using the lost/stolen device form provided here. The form must be accompanied by a police report in order to avoid potential replacement fees, which may be assessed if the student was deemed negligent in the device loss. EMUHSD will flag the device as stolen and shut down the wireless internet service within 2-3 school business days. The El 天美影视 Union High School District is provided a limited supply of devices each school year and a replacement device cannot be guaranteed. A replacement P10M device will not be assigned to the student until any existing student fees have been paid to the Student Store Clerk.

  • What happens to the MiFi device if a student transfers schools?

    Posted by:

If a student transfers schools and remains within the El 天美影视 Union High School District, the MiFi device will stay with them and active. If a student changes school districts, the MiFi device must be returned to the school district and the service will cease. Failure to return the device to the district will envoke fees towards the student's account for the unreturned learning materials.

  • Does the device turn off after the monthly data bandwidth allocation is exceeded?

    Posted by:

No, the device does not shut off it's service, it simply slows down. The hotspot will continue to work at slower speeds (3G) after the student uses the monthly allotted bandwidth of high-speed LTE data.

  • Does the MiFi device have an internet filter?

    Posted by:

Yes, Sprint provides a free Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) compliant content filter with every MiFi device. This filter blocks adult content and malware via the device. It also blocks the same content for any computing device while on the Sprint network. The filter uses the Symantec Rulespace engine which is industry best-in-class and has been employed worldwide to over 700 million customers. If the filter is blocking websites required by your classroom teacher, please report that to your teacher directly and we'll work to update the filter restrictions if at all possible.

  • Can each high school student have their own MiFi for households with multiple students?

    Posted by:

Only 1 device can be applied for per household due to conditions brought about from COVID19. The good news is that 1 device does allow for multiple connections, up to 10 simultaneous connections. It is not recommended that the device be used for anything other than school requirements as multiple connections will cause the device to exceed monthly high-speed data limits quickly, thus slowing down the internet speed as a result.
